In 1953, movie star George Raft starred as Lt. George Kirby of the NY Police Department in a syndicated television series police drama titled I'm the Law. It was one of the earliest instances of a movie star of his previous calibre accepting the lead in a TV series.
This is New York City in the early 50s. "I'M THE LAW" was a gritty, shot-on-location crime series which future shot-on-location shows like ‘Naked City and later NYPD Blue’ among many others.
