Ethel Hoyt, a flapper assured of her charm and beauty, is leading along a gaggle of boys and overwhelming her dear parents. So while watching a performance of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew her father decides that, like shrewish Kate, his daughter just needs a taste of her own medicine to be tamed. He conspires with Ernest Eddison, his friend and the actor who plays Petruchio, to charm and tame Ethel. Of course things may not go as planned when Ernest finds he is not immune to Ethel's enchantment.
