Following a highly successful run on the West End in London, The Sunshine Boys stars Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Danny DeVito. Fellow "Taxi" star Judd Hirsch will take over the role left vacant by the untimely death of original star Richard Griffiths who passed away in March. The show tells the story of hit comedy duo Al Lewis and Willie Clark who begin to fall out when their former show is brought back to life for a CBS television special.
The Ahmanson is proud to host the US Premiere of The Sunshine Boys, directed by Olivier Award winner Thea Sharrock and written by the classic American playwright, Neil Simon.
Very nicely filmed, with a nice mix of close-ups and full stage shots.
This is the U.S. premiere of the production which originated in London, and reunites Taxi co-stars DeVito and Hirsch. The plan is to bring the show to Broadway in the Spring of 2014. A
